Abstract
The purpose of conducting this study is to find out there is significant effect in students’ writing skill in seven grade at SMP Al-fattah Buduran before and after being taught using mind mapping strategy. In this case, the researcher used quantitative method. The subject of this research was 7-C grade of SMP Al-fattah Buduran which consist 27 students. The researcher divides the main activity into pre-test, treatment and post-test. Based on the stastical calculation from mean result of pre-test 62,33 and the result mean of post-test is 73,85. The students’ score is increasing after given the treatment. The researcher used t-test to calculated the data and to test the hypothesis. The result of the calculation of this research is t-test higher than table. Here the t-test 3,23 and the t-table is 1,675 with degree of freedom 51 and significance 5%. It means that the alternative hypothesis () is accepted and the null hypothesis () is rejected. From the result of the data analysis above, the use mind mapping gives significance effect in students’ writing skill achievement.
