Abstract

The objectives of this research are to find out whether there is significant effect of using board game as a media in teaching writing recount text and to find out how significant the effect of using board game as a media in teaching writing recount text is. The research was conducted at SMK Yapalis Krian Sidoarjo. Sample of this study is students in AK class. The method that is used in this research is quantitative method with pre-experimental design. To get the data, the researcher gave pre-test, treatment and post-test to the students. The researcher used board game as a media in teaching writing recount text. Based on the result of the research, there are some research findings that can be represented. First, there is significant effect of using board game as a media in teaching writing recount text. Second, board game gives high effect in students writing recount text. In conclusion, the use of board game as a media in teaching writing recount text gives significant and high effect in students writing recount text.
