Abstract

This study aimed to meticulously analyze the impact of financial intelligence on achieving financial sustainability among employees in the higher education sector in Iraq. This is particularly relevant given the increasing economic challenges that necessitate individuals to enhance their financial capabilities and improve the efficiency of their financial decision-making. A descriptive-analytical study was used and data were collected by using a questionnaire which was administered to a sample of 114 employees in the higher education sector. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for data analysis. A strong, positive and statistically significant correlation was found between financial intelligence and financial sustainability with a correlation coefficient of 0.673 at the 0.01 significance level. The more financially intelligent, the better one can be financially sustainable. Further, the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test revealed that there were significant differences between the financial intelligence level for some of the demographic variables, which shows the effect of individual variables on sustainable financial behavior.
