Abstract

This study develops a digital maturity assessment framework for industrial enterprises and examines its applicability under the conditions of Uzbekistan's manufacturing sector. The accelerating diffusion of Industry 4.0 technologies, artificial intelligence, and platform-based production has made the objective evaluation of enterprise digital maturity a central concern for both policymakers and industrial managers, yet most existing maturity and readiness models were developed for, and calibrated on, advanced-economy manufacturing contexts. The paper systematizes the major international maturity and readiness models, identifies their common structural dimensions and methodological limitations, and proposes an integrated four-dimensional framework combining technological infrastructure, data integration, strategy and governance, and human capital. The study relies on a qualitative-analytical research design combining comparative literature synthesis with an empirical illustration based on recent firm-level survey evidence for Central Asian industrial enterprises, including Uzbekistan.
