Abstract

This article investigates the impact of remote employment and hybrid work forms on labor productivity within the context of the digital economy. In recent years, new forms of employment have been emerging as a result of the rapid development of information and communication technologies, the digitalization of economic sectors, and institutional changes in the labor market. Particularly in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era, the widespread adoption of remote and hybrid work models has brought about modern methods of organizing labor processes within enterprises. The research findings indicate that from the perspective of labor productivity, the hybrid work model demonstrates higher efficiency compared to traditional and fully remote work forms. A notable increase in labor efficiency was observed especially in information technology, e-commerce, marketing, consulting, and finance. Using the economy of Uzbekistan as a case study, the impact of the digital economy on the labor market was evaluated based on employment, ICT sector development, and e-commerce indicators for the years 2020–2024. The analysis revealed a significant increase in the number of employees, wage levels, and the volume of gross value added generated in the ICT sector.
