Abstract
This research is conducted to find out the most common errors in essay writing made by the fourth semester students of English Education Study Program based on surfae strategy taxonomy which are omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. The researcher uses qualitative method in this research. In conclusion, the students committed misformation, omission, addition, and miordering; and misformation is the most commonly committed error that found in their essays.
