Abstract

This research is being carried out in the wake of the moral degradation among children that is increasingly worrying as well as the spirit of character education that was promoted by the President of RI in Perpres No. 87 Year 2017 On Strengthening Character Education that motivated the author's interest in conducting more in-depth research related to the efforts of the formation of religious character of students at SD Mumtaz Sidoarjo. The research approach used is qualitative research with descriptive methods. Research data collection techniques are carried out with interviews, observations, and documentation techniques. The subjects in this study are the head of the school, the deputy head of religious schools, and classmates. The findings of this study show that the efforts made by schools in forming religious character through the practice of Dhuha prayer are done by allocating special time for the Dhuhaha prayer program on a routine basis on every Monday to Thursday in all classes. Schools also provide facilities for the program such as prayer venues and prayer tools available in each classroom, wudhu venue, as well as regular accompaniment to each implementation of the program by the class teacher and supervision and resolution of the obstacles program delegated to the deputy head of the religious school. The method of cultivation through the implementation of the Dhuha prayer program demonstrates the formation of the religious character of students demonstrated with deep obedience in worship, order, responsibility, self-reliance, and caring for each other.
