Abstract
This study aims to describe the internalization of students religious character values based on the application of Al Islam and Muhammadiyah education in Muhammadiyah schools. This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach. The research object was carried out at SD Muhammadiyah 3 Pandaan. With the subject of grade 4 students and Al-Islam education subject teachers and Kemuhammadiyahan subject teachers. The data collection process uses interview observation and documentation techniques. Of the three techniques, the researcher used source triangulation and technical triangulation to check the validity of research data and information. The results of this study stated that students already had a religious character because of habituation at school such as carrying out congregational prayers at duha and midday prayers which were obligatory, getting students used to being prayer priests and becoming muezzins for male students. As for the tauziah activities led by the ustad or ustadzah after the congregational prayers are held, the habituation of the sunnah in everyday life, such as in the school environment, students and teachers remind each other of good manners as well as asking for good and forbidding evil. Behind the teacher's role, the obstacles experienced are the differences in student backgrounds, student environmental factors, and learning time limitations.
