Abstract
This study aims to describe the strengthening of students' religious character in learning Indonesian. This research approach uses a qualitative approach to the type of phenomenological research. Data collection techniques using interview techniques, observation and documentation. The data analysis used is Miles' interactive analysis technique. The results showed that there were twelve characters that strengthened the students' religious character, namely (1) peace-loving; (2) tolerance; (3) respecting differences in religion and belief; (4) stand firm; (5) confident; (6) cooperation between adherents of religions and beliefs; (7) anti bullying and violence; (8) friendship; (9) sincerity; (10) don't force your will; (11) love the environment, and (12) protect the small and excluded. Strengthening the twelve religious characters in learning Indonesian is done through optimizing collaboration with parents and teachers' efforts to strengthen religious character in learning Indonesian using a critical thinking and problem solving learning approach.
