Abstract

This paper presents a comparative analysis of digital banking adoption across Central Asia, focusing on the opportunities and barriers that influence the growth of this sector in various countries, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. As the region embraces digital transformation, the study examines key factors driving digital banking initiatives, such as technologicaladvancements, regulatory reforms, and changing consumer behavior. Furthermore, it identifies common barriers hindering adoption, including cybersecurity risks, infrastructure limitations, and disparities in digital literacy among populations. Through a mixed-methods approach that incorporates quantitative data on user adoption rates and qualitative insights from industry stakeholders, this research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the digital banking landscape in Central Asia. The findings highlight the potential for enhanced financial inclusion and economic growth through digital banking, while also emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts among governments, financial institutions, and fintech companies to overcome existing challenges. Ultimately, this study contributes to the ongoing discourse on the future of digital banking in Central Asia and offers actionable recommendations for fostering a more inclusive and secure financial ecosystem
