Abstract

Obesity is one of the most common chronic diseases in the world, acquiring a pandemic nature of distribution. According to many epidemiological studies, a connection has been established between the increase in the prevalence of obesity and the growth in the number of other diseases. The progression of obesity contributes to the development of many diseases of the cardiovascular system, type 2 diabetes mellitus, cholelithiasis, cancer, bronchial asthma, diseases of the musculoskeletal system. There is evidence of an increase in the incidence of arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, heart failure, hypercholesterolemia, blood rheology disorders, thromboembolic complications in patients with excess body weight. This article discusses the development of coronary heart disease in people with overweight and obesity.
