Abstract
This article provides a comprehensive overview of various methods for teaching foreign languages, exploring both traditional and contemporary approaches. It examines prominent methods including the GrammarTranslation Method, Direct Method, Communicative Approach, TaskBased Language Teaching (TBLT), Total Physical Response (TPR), and the Audio-Lingual Method. Each method is analyzed in terms of its principles, strengths, and limitations, highlighting how they address different aspects of language acquisition such as grammar, vocabulary, and communicative competence. The article emphasizes the importance of selecting appropriate methods based on learner needs, language context, and educational goals. By integrating insights from multiple methods, educators can create effective, engaging, and adaptive language learning environments that cater to diverse learner profiles and promote meaningful language use.
