Abstract

This article is a comparative analysis of idiomatic expressions in Swedish and German, emphasizing their cultural significance and linguistic characteristics. Based on examples of specific idioms, the article explores how idioms reflect the historical, cultural, and social aspects of both languages. She also discusses the influence of culture on the formation of idioms and their use in everyday speech, providing an in-depth understanding of how idiomatic expressions serve as a bridge between language and culture. The article is intended for linguists, translators, language students and anyone interested in intercultural communication
