Abstract

The concept of mahalla, its history and current problems are highlighted in the article. Each of the functions performed within the mahalla has its own range in terms of population, that is, they are different. The issues of determining the function with the largest interval of the population of the mahalla and improving the traditional neighborhood areas in accordance with the requirements of sustainable urban development were considered.
