Abstract

The study was undertaken to determined the effectivity of teak saw dust regarding to subterranean termites (Neotermes tectonae) attacking control on teak stump. The experiment had been done from March until April, 1997 at Laboratory of forestry of Malang Agriculture University and RPH Sadang, BKPH Medang, KPH Mantingan , Perum Perhutani Unit I Central of Java. The experiment had been done in two step was: (a) Laboratory experience which arranged in complete randomized design with treatments were: teak saw dust, furadan, and control by 3 replications; and (b) field experimentwhich arranged in block randomized design with treatments were: 4, 8, and 12 cm teak saw dust placements distance from stump by 5 replications. The data was analyzed by the analysis of variance and 5 % BNT test. Results of the laboratory experiment indicated that the teak saw dust pressed the termites population with 67 % and 83 % mortality levels on 48 and 72 hours after treatment. In the field experiment, there were teak saw dust significantly pressed attacking intensity and population of subterranean termites on 56 HST, but there weren’t significantly influence toward stum height. Except to control, the inter-placement of teak saw dust was not significantly influences toward all parameters.
