Abstract

The experiment was carried out to determinate effects of destilation period toward rendemen, cyneol concentration, and colour of kayooput oil, besides to determinate the optimal period of destilation process. Research activities were conducted in Sukun’s kayooput oil fabrique in Perhutani KHP Madiun from March up to May 1997. Experiment applied the Complete Randomized Design with six treatments of destilation period, i.e: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 hours and three replications. The Duncan 5% test was used to analyse the significant different among treatments. Results of experiment indicated that the destilation period significantly influenced the decreasing of rendemen, cyneol concentration, and colour of kayooput oil. The optimum period of destilation process was three hours.
