Abstract

The objectives of this research is to find out whether there is significant effect of using jigsaw as technique in teaching listening song. The research was conducted at SMAN 1 Wonoayu Sidoarjo. The sample of the research are XI IPA-5 as experimental class and XI IPA-6 as control class, both of them consists of 36 students. The method which used in this research quantitative method and true-experimental design. To collect the data, the researcher gave pre-test, treatment and pre-test to the students. The experimental class was taught listening song using jigsaw technique, whereas the control class was taught listening song without jigsaw technique. The analysis of the data showed there was significant difference of the students’ achievement between control class and experimental class. The average of students’ achievement before conducted treatment 55, 58 for experimental class and 55, 31 for control class. The average of students’ achievement after conducted treatment in expeimental class was 85, 61 and in control class was 81, 08. In conclusion, the use of jigsaw as technique in listening song gives significant effect in students listening song.
