Abstract
The purpose of this research is to know the effect on using Realia as media in descriptive text of writing skill at seventh grade of SMPN 2 Jabon. Realia is activities use real life objects to make students more understand and interesting in learning process. In this study, the researcher will take quantitative method which is true experimental research. It means the researcher make experiment of teaching writing by using realia (experiment class) and without realia (control class) to the seventh grade students of SMPN 2 Jabon, then give them writing test (pretest & posttest). After that, the researcher and the English teacher take their score. The aim of this research to prove: Is there any significant effect of using realia in descriptive text in writing skill for seventh grade students of SMPN 2 Jabon?. After getting data from pretest and posttest of both classes, the researcher analyses and process by using statistic calculation of the t-test formula with significance degree 5%. According to the test of result statistical calculation is obtained that t0 is higher than ttable 4,03 > 1.99. It can be concluded that there is significance effect of using realia in descriptive text of writing skill for 7th grader of SMPN 2 Jabon. There is no doubt that realia is very to help students for learning English, especially in writing descriptive text.
