Abstract
The article systematizes modern conceptual approaches to the integration of higher and professional education in providing regional economic sectors with qualified personnel. The economic content of the concepts of the skills ecosystem, skills needs anticipation, lifelong learning and flexible educational trajectories, competency-based education, dual and work-based learning, the regional innovation ecosystem, and digital analytics of skills is revealed. Their role in coordinating the demand and supply of personnel in the regional labour market, increasing the alignment of educational programmes with sectoral specialization, and strengthening the efficiency of human-capital utilization is substantiated. As the author's own approach, it is proposed to organize the integration of higher and professional education around the chain “forecasting regional demand – competency mapping – integrated educational trajectory – joint training with the employer – outcome monitoring.”
