Abstract
The article analyses employment trends in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector using official statistics for 2019–2025. It assesses the impact of changes in tourist flows, the number of tourism firms and organizations, employees working in tourism enterprises, accommodation facilities, and service infrastructure on employment. The methodological differences between the narrow industry approach to measuring tourism employment and the Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) methodology are substantiated. The analysis shows that the recovery of tourist flows and the expansion of accommodation infrastructure have increased demand for new jobs; however, regional imbalances, seasonality, informality, and skills mismatches in employment remain. Proposals have been developed to introduce a “Smart Tourism Labour Market” information system, forecast regional workforce needs, formalize platform employment, and comprehensively assess employment quality.
