Abstract

BUMDes is a village business institution managed by the community and the village government. The background of this research is in Banua Hanyar Village, the performance of human resources is still lacking, there is no such thing as salary or honorarium, the business program that has been run has not returned the initial capital.  This study uses a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive type. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data sources were taken through purposive sampling totaling 10 people. After the data has been collected, it is analyzed with techniques including organizing and preparing the data to be analyzed, reading and viewing all data, coding all data, using coding as material for making descriptions, connecting between themes and conducting member checks. The effectiveness of BUMDes as economic strengthening in Banua Hanyar Village and Parigi Village, North Daha Selatan District, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency is still not fulfilled. First, productivity, efficiency in Banua Hanyar Village and Parigi Village is not effective due to low profit and loss. Effectiveness in Banua Hanyar Village and Parigi Village is not effective because the initial goal of BUMDes has not been achieved. Both service quality, community satisfaction in Banua Hanyar Village and Parigi Village are not effective because there is no contribution to the community. Third, responsiveness, the needs of the people of Banua Hanyar Village and Parigi Village are not effective because the business is not appropriate. Readiness in Banua Hanyar Village and Parigi villages was not effective because they were not good at planning. Fourth, responsibility, conformity in Banua Hanyar Village and Parigi Village is not effective because it needs development. Punctuality in Banua Hanyar Village and Parigi Village was not effective because the effort did not match the specified target. Fifth, accountability, the ability to serve the community in Banua Hanyar Village and Parigi Village is not effective because there is no reporting. To improve the effectiveness of BUMDes management in Banua Hanyar Village and Parigi villages, it is recommended that the Head of the Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency Community and Village Empowerment Service provide training in each village. Then to the Head of Banua Hanyar Village and Parigi Village to choose BUMDes management who are able to develop BUMDes. Then for the managers of BUMDes Banua Hanyar and Parigi to manage with great responsibility and further improve performance.
