Abstract

This research aims to identify Obstacles faced by yellow corn farmers in using agricultural technologies related to crop management in Al-Hadar district, Nineveh Governorate In general, identifying the most significant obstacles in each area of ​​yellow corn cultivation. This includes (varietal selection, fertilization, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting), as well as identifying the socioeconomic characteristics of the respondents and determining whether there is a correlation between the two variables .Determining the correlation between the obstacles faced by yellow corn farmers and all the variables specific to the farmers, represented by (age, educational level, type of land ownership, main source of family income, and the trend towards yellow corn cultivation).     The study population included all yellow corn farmers in Al-Hadar district, who were officially registered with the agricultural division of Al-Hadar district, numbering (280) farmers. A simple random sample of the farmers was taken at a rate of (20%) to become (56The questionnaire was used as a data collection tool for the respondents. The first part of the questionnaire included a set of personal, communicative, and economic questions, while the second part included eight areas related to the cultivation of yellow corn. The final version included (26The test item was used, and several statistical methods were employed to analyze the data, including Pearson's simple correlation coefficient, Spearman's correlation coefficient, and the (t) and percentile weight. The overall level of obstacles for yellow corn farmers is low, as approximately 50% of the respondents had low levels of knowledge, while (32.14(Some of them were at a moderate level.) The level of obstacles faced by farmers in the field of (irrigation) topped the list of agricultural areas related to crop service, while the field of (fertilization selection) came in last place. The results also showed a significant positive correlation between the level of knowledge of yellow corn farmers and most of the studied independent variables. The researcher recommended the need to increase the level of farmers' knowledge in the field of preparation. fertilization Irrigation in the area Search The researcher recommends increasing extension activities and training courses for farmers in Al-Hadar district, Nineveh Governorate. It also supports farmers with modern technologies related to the cultivation of yellow corn and provides modern technologies in the spraying and harvesting process as well. Finally, the results also showed a significant positive correlation between Obstacles The study examined the growth of yellow corn and most of the independent variables. The researcher recommended increasing farmers' knowledge in land preparation within the study area. The researcher also recommended increasing extension activities and training courses for farmers in the study area in crop management, focusing training on areas and topics where low knowledge levels were observed. Finally, the researcher recommended that the relevant authorities and the Nineveh Governorate Agriculture Directorate address the problems faced by yellow corn farmers.
