Abstract

In today’s rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape, organizations face increasingly sophisticated attacks that can disrupt critical operations and compromise sensitive data. This article explores the strategic integration of Cyber Incident Response (CIR) with Disaster Recovery (DR) to build a unified framework for enhanced organizational resilience. By aligning immediate incident containment and mitigation efforts with robust recovery processes, businesses can significantly reduce downtime, data loss, and operational impact during cyber crises. The article examines best practices, technological enablers, and collaborative workflows that bridge the gap between security teams and IT recovery functions. It further highlights how a cohesive CIR-DR approach supports proactive threat management, rapid restoration, and continuous improvement. This integrated model empowers organizations to not only respond effectively to cyber incidents but also to strengthen their overall risk posture in an increasingly hostile digital environment.
