Identification of biochemical and instrumental changes in patients with a comorbid course of chronic viral hepatitis C with type 2 diabetes mellitus, as well as the study of pathogenetic factors in the development of insulin resistance in patients with hepatitis C, the influence of chronic viral hepatitis C on the course and manifestations of type 2 diabetes mellitus, as well as the study of a specific approach to Treatment with hypoglycemic agents in these patients is of particular importance.
