Abstract
Biofertilizer is the right solution to overcome the decline in soil fertility on dry land because it can improve the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil. This research aims to isolate the biological agent Trichoderma fungus and use it for cultivating vegetable crops in marginal dry land. The methods used include isolation and determination of biological agents, formulation of biological fertilizers, testing the performance of biological agents, and projecting their use as biofertilizers for cultivating dry land vegetable crops. The results of the determination of the biological agent isolate were Trichoderma sp. Tc-43. The isolate was formulated in Biokar as a carrier material in bulk solid form, which was proven to be effective in increasing height growth and number of chili leaves. This Trichoderma biofertilizer has the potential to be used as a fertilizer in cultivating vegetable crops on marginal dry land where it is applied as a soil treatment or spraying plant crowns. The use of biofertilizers in an effort to realize local food security should involve farmer groups as providers of carrier agents for biological agents as well as in implementing applications in the field.
