Abstract
The use of Trichoderma fungal biological agents as biofertilizers has the potential to improve soil conditions and also increase plant health protection from physical, chemical and biological stress. Therefore, the application of Trichoderma biological agents has great potential to increase plant sustainability and yield. This research aims to find Trichoderma biological agent fungi that can be used for plant cultivation in suboptimal wetlands. The methods used include isolation and determination of biological agents, formulation of biological fertilizers, testing the performance of biological agents, and projecting their use as biofertilizers for cultivating dry land vegetable crops. The results of the determination of the biological agent were Trichoderma sp. isolate Tc-42, a bulk solid formulation of Trichoderma in biokar as an effective carrier material increases height growth and number of chili leaves. The isolate has the potential to be used in the form of fertilization both through the soil and plant crowns in suboptimal wetlands. The involvement of farmer groups in collaboration with the Microbiology and Biotechnology Laboratory and the Agrotechnology Study Program at Muhammadyah Sidoarjo University provides good prospects for realizing and maintaining local food security.
