Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the effect of short phenomena video in students’ ability in writing analytical exposition text. This research was conducted at SMA Islam Sidoarjo academic year 2016/2017. The method of this research used quantitative pre-experimental design. It was done by doing four activities. They were try out, pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The data were gained from the students’ pre-test and post-test score. The findings showed that there was development on students’ writing ability, it can be seen from the mean score of pre-test were 68.90 while the post-test score were 75.59 also the data were analyzed by using t-test. The result of calculation showed that in the significance degree of level 5%, the value of t-test (t0) > ttable (13.72 > 2.05). It means that there is effect of using short phenomena video toward students writing skill.
