Abstract

No one ever thought that they would be in a pandemic situation like a Covid- 19 pandemic. When the cases are increasing sharply and claiming many victims, humans are required to adapt quickly. Depressed conditions and very fast changes cause stress that attacks almost all people in the world.These conditions can affect a person’s behavior in deciding to buy something important in dealing with the pandemic situation. In this study,the authors wanted to see whether there was an influence of economic level,gender, and educational background on panic buying behavior. Based on the formulation of the problem, this research is a quantitative descriptive design in which the data is collected using a questionnaire and the analysis is processed using multiple regression analysis. The number of samples in this study was 100 people from 5 sub-districts in Sidoarjo. From this multiple regression analysis, it will be seen how the influence of each component on panic buying behavior that occurs in Indonesia, especially in the Sidoarjo district. The research instrument used is the result of the development carried out by researchers and the measurement scale uses the Guttman Scale. The analysis technique using Multiple Linear Regression and Partial Test and Simultaneous Test using SPSS 16.0. The test results show that the perspectives of gender, economy and education have a significant effect on panic buying.
